Transstroy company, the general contractor of the stadium on Krestovsky Island, won the competition for the completion of the stadium construction. The contract with the total value of 9.129 bln rubles includes works for the installation of a retractable roof and a roll-out field, utility systems, finishing, and also installation and commissioning of the arena’s equipment.
Transstroy company, the general contractor of the stadium on Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg, is winner of the tender for the construction of the stadium on the western part of Krestovsky Island in St. Petersburg. The contract with the total value of 9.129 billion rubles will be awarded to Transstroy-SPb Engineering Corporation. The company is the main contractor under the valid state contract for the construction of sports facilities.
The longest part of the works included in the document – utility systems: electrical, heating services, water supply and drainage systems, fire and security signal systems, fire extinguishing and video surveillance and telecommunication networks. Next year Transstroy will complete the construction of the data center, hardware complex/ payment access system and a single stadium control centre. Works for installation of utility networks and systems began in this June and will be completed in May 2016.
The most technologically sophisticated works included in the contract - installation of the retractable roof and roll-out field. It is these elements that will be the hallmark of the stadium: St. Petersburg Arena - the only one in Russia, with its similar opportunities for transformation. The presence of mobile elements enables to use the arena throughout the year, supporting high quality soccer pitch and the optimum temperature inside the bowl. Installation of the main structures of the field should be completed in the II quarter of 2015, the roof - in the IV quarter.
In addition, the document provides for finishing works, landscaping of stadium hill, seat installation, video, lighting and sound equipment and commissioning of all utility systems.
At present works for the assembly of the fixed roof part (more than 50% is assembled), construction of technical rooms in the hill of the stadium, installation of stairs and escalator groups, utilities (25%), the installation of the facade (30%) and pre-finishing of rooms ( 35%). Readiness of reinforced bowl structures - more than 95%.

Stadium on the western part of Krestovsky Island - the largest stadium under construction in Russia (the total area), the only one in Eastern Europe and one of five in the world, equipped with both a retractable roof and roll-out field. The total area is more than 280 thousand square meters. The number of seats is 68 thousand (capacity in theater and concert events - more than 77 thousand). Capital construction end date - end of 2015, the facility delivery is scheduled for May 2016. After the completion of construction the stadium will be one of the largest concert and sports areas of Eastern Europe and the main stadium in St. Petersburg.
