Retractable roof and roll-out field

Field

A combination of a retractable roof and a roll-out field will be one of the main know-how of the stadium. Field with dimensions 120 * 80 m will move through a system of electric motors, raising with the assistance of air pillow. During football matches the field will be located inside the bowl of the stadium, for the period of concerts, exhibitions and competitions in other sports it will be located outside the stadium – for the best safety of a pitch.

This decision will allow to maintain the high quality of the pitch throughout the year and to avoid its replacement as it usually happens at the classic football arenas. For maintaining a constant temperature and humidity level, the field will be equipped with the aeration system and electric heating. The time required to move the fields and all related procedures will be about 6 hours.

Roof

A retractable roof will provide the sunlight in the days when the football field will be located inside the stadium: without the proper amount of sun pitch will not grow. In addition, according to the regulations of FIFA, matches must take place under the open air and a removable segment helps to satisfy this requirement. But the most important thing is that the new stadium will be comfortable for visitors at any time, including the winter. In order to close the roof, for example in case of bad weather, it will take only 15 minutes.

Stadium security

Video surveillance

The video surveillance system will be installed at the facility that allows to follow any of the spectators from the input security cordon to the place on the bleachers. The system identifies the ticket, appearance and track record of the fan. A total of more than 600 cameras will be installed under the bleachers space. The main task of surveillance - fix illegal actions and the identification of offenders.

Security alarm

To protect against unauthorized access to the stadium by unauthorized persons, sports facilities will be equipped with an alarm system. The project provides for about 3.5 thousand magnetic detectors to be installed on doors and windows, about 200 detectors of broken glass and more than one thousand optoelectronic detectors that will control the amount of space.

Stadium management

Access monitoring and control system

For transportation of staff and visitors to the different areas and facilities, as well as protection against unauthorized access, the stadium will be mounted with the access monitoring and control system. Entry and exit to the premises of the facility will be carried out by electronic cards, which accommodate doors controllers, readers, cards and electronic locking elements. Any door can be unlocked from workstations guard posts. Access control will be equipped with more than one thousand points of passage.

Fire alarm

A fire alarm system is intended for detecting fire at an early stage and generation of control signals for switching the different systems. In case of a precedent, the stadium includes a set of measures: warning and control operation (switch facility in the emergency mode), smoke removal, deactivation of ventilation systems, elevators control, shutdown of process equipment etc.

The system will be based on 16 fire stations located in different parts of the building and connected to a local network, which is one decentralized station. More than 10 thousand and two thousand multisensor manual call points will be used as sensors.

Fire extinguishing system

Several types of fire protection systems will be installed at the facility. In control rooms – dry-chemical extinguishing system, in the switchboard rooms - gaseous suppression system and firewater - in all other rooms. Steam fire protection system will be installed in the most of the space of the stadium, and the internal and external translucent structures (stained glass, windows, doors) will be irrigated by a water spray.

One of the unique features of the facility will be a fire extinguishing system in the area of the bleachers – a robotized fire complex. After signal fire robot determines the location of the fire and manufactures water spray. The robot is equipped with a "technical vision" consisting of the IR-sensor with a scanner and a TV-camera. It is also endowed with intellect: the definition of target coordinates and pointing to the source of fire. Fire robots are connected with an information network, managed through a central console and integrated into a security system.

Stadium management

Single control centre

The single centre is a hub of communication and control responsible for the operation of the stadium and a place where staff will monitor the processes taking place at the arena and manage all engineering systems in response to any arising situation – both before the event and in its process and after.

Monitoring systems

The system monitors all subsystems: security systems, life support, fire protection, communication systems, informing the staff on duty of the Center for Monitoring and Forecasting of Emergency Situations - the element of daily management of the Unified State System of Prevention and Emergency Response of the pre-alarm, emergency, emergencies and fires.

Even in crisis situations the communication and control system of the stadium provides guaranteed sustainable telephone communications at the facility between operational and rescue services, special units and headquarters for disaster management. Monitoring system engineering structures of the stadium will work in a real time and allows to track changes in the state of engineering (bearing) structures.

Remote control system of the stadium

The automatic remote control system of the stadium is designed for centralized monitoring, scheduling and control of a number of engineering systems:

  • Energy savings
  • Sports lighting
  • Heating
  • Ventilation
  • Conditioning
  • Heating
  • Boiler-room
  • Air curtains
  • Refrigeration
  • Communication systems

Sports lighting

Specialized lighting will be installed on the arena which conforms to all the conditions for the comfort of the players, spectators, judges and work of TV cameras. In particular, to eliminate flicker effect during slow and super slow repeat for spotlights electronic and high-frequency control gears are used.

The project provides for emergency TV coverage - the possibility of continuous television broadcast of a match in a standard mode in a case of a power supply shutdown.

The stadium will be provided with the power lighting system for the first football category, a special category by an independent backup power supply and uninterruptible power supply. Thanks to this, 100% of lighting fixtures remain in operation, providing high light levels within 3 hours. That is, even if the whole city is disconnected from the electricity, visitors of the stadium can watch the game and not notice any changes.

Lighting equipment of the stadium will be located in a special ring technical bridge, providing free and easy access to it at any time. The bridge is located in the space between girders ("rails" where a retractable part of the roof will move) and is connected to the system transient radial bridges with access to the roof.

Visitors with limited mobility

At the entrance to the stadium information stands with the direction of travel to an available input will be installed.

The stadium also includes some disabled facilities:

To ensure accessibility for people with limited vision tactile warning indicators are equipped before each flight of stairs. Stair treads are equipped with non-skid anti contrasting color corner profile at each stage of the flight of stairs.

Toilets for people with limited mobility will be equipped with a call bell for duty staff. Equipment for two-way communication with the dispatcher will be installed on seats of handicapped people.

Energy Efficient Solutions

Complex indicators characterizing the specific value of the flow of energy resources make it possible to include the facility for the A ++ (very high) class of energy efficiency. All materials and technologies used for the construction of the stadium will be environmentally safe and meet high standards of LEED international certification system: cables do not emit halogen during fire (HF-cable), energy saving lamps, etc.

Equipment meets the high technical level of the project and has the highest energy efficiency class by using the most advanced technological developments. In particular, OTIS elevators installed at the stadium are equipped with ReGen regenerative drive, which redirects the energy which is usually dissipated as heat in the brake resistor back into the power grid of the building. Thus, it makes a pure "green" energy and energy savings can reach 40-75%.
